Department of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Klagenfurt was established in 1999 as a first university professorship in Austria dealing with entrepreneurship as both research area and training program for students. The main focus of department’s research are success factors of business ventures and innovations, growth potential of new enterprises, technologically- and environmentally-oriented innovations, incubators, and entrepreneurship in transition economies. The research results of the department have been published in recognized scientific journals, collected editions, and proceedings of international conferences. A scientific team of the department is multidisciplinary and consists of researchers from natural, social and business sciences.
